A milestone in evolution, engraved in sound.

To read musical signals from the invaluable disc libraries accumulated by countless audio enthusiasts with even greater precision, LUXMAN has further evolved its original highly rigid disc transport mechanism, LxDTM-i*. A robust box structure encloses the delicate rotating mechanism, combining 8mm-thick aluminum side frames, a 5mm-thick steel top plate and a newly added 8mm-thick aluminum base plate. By directly integrating the transport mechanism with the main chassis in a unified structure, the design achieves unwavering strength, confidently isolating external vibrations. Continuing the approach introduced with the D-10X, the D-100 CENTENNIAL adopts a left-side mechanical layout, ensuring sufficient space for the large-scale analog output circuitry while enabling the ideal shortest signal path. Wiring routes have been further optimized to match the latest circuit configuration. The disc tray is also equipped with a dust-proof shutter, enhancing quiet operation and delivering the smooth, elegant motion expected of a true flagship model.

At the heart of the digital processing stage beats a pair of ROHM’s latest and highest-grade BD34302EKV DAC chips in a dual-mono configuration. Newly implemented sound-quality enhancement logic at the IC level, together with LUXMAN’s thorough analog circuit approach, delivers a major leap in performance in the digital-to-analog conversion stage. Via USB input from network transports such as the NT-07 or from Windows PC/Mac sources, the D-100 CENTENNIAL supports ultimate playback specifications of up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and DSD 22.5MHz/1-bit. For legacy CD players and other digital sources, S/PDIF (COAX/OPT) inputs support up to PCM 192kHz. During USB data transmission, in addition to isochronous communication, users may install LUXMAN’s dedicated driver software (provided free of charge) to enable Bulk Pet transfer (4 modes), which equalizes processing load and achieves superior sound quality. Furthermore, the DAC’s built-in filters allow users to select their preferred tonal character, there are 3 filter options for PCM playback and 2 filter options for DSD playback.

The analog output stage of the D-100 CENTENNIAL is the first disc player product to incorporate LUXMAN’s completely renewed LIFES amplification feedback engine, developed over 20 years of refinement as LUXMAN’s core amplifier technology, ODNF. LIFES inherits the fundamental philosophy of ODNF: feeding back only distortion components generated during amplification, achieving excellent measured performance while preserving the natural musicality of a non-feedback design. Through exhaustive circuit simulation, the entire architecture and component selection were fundamentally reexamined, resulting in a simpler and more ideal amplification circuit. In the D-100 CENTENNIAL, distortion is further reduced by parallel-connecting the input stage of the differential detection amplifier, enabling the latest evolution: LIFES version 1.1. This advanced circuitry delivers the profound depth and rich musical performance that only a true flagship can achieve.

The front panel of the D-100 CENTENNIAL features a glossy chrome-plated “CENTENNIAL” nameplate, signifying its status as a 100th Anniversary commemorative model. Its bold yet refined chassis design—expressing a distinctive “waistline” between the massively slanted thick front panel and the bonnet—embodies the overwhelming presence and musical sophistication of LUXMAN’s flagship lineage alongside the C-10X and M-10X.

The D-100 CENTENNIAL introduces a newly developed large high-definition OLED display, expanding the display area by approximately 70% compared to the D-10X. It clearly presents a wide range of information, including track details and elapsed time, source format, filter settings and playback modes. Additional features include 4-level dimmer function, 4 times zoom mode for enhanced long-distance visibility and automatic brightness reduction.

Two newly developed clock circuits are employed, combining ultra-low phase-noise oscillator ICs and large crystal oscillators. This design reduces noise around the oscillation frequency, achieving extremely high precision and low jitter. For USB input, asynchronous communication is managed by a dedicated DSP, while for S/PDIF input, LUXMAN’s integrated DAIR system provides high-accuracy clock control. By selecting the optimal low-jitter function for each input, the D-100 CENTENNIAL pursues the highest-quality digital signal transmission.

The D-100 CENTENNIAL incorporates LUXMAN’s traditional highly stable power supply design, combining a CI-core power transformer, independent left/right rectification circuits, regulators and a bank of 40,000μF high-capacity filter capacitors. This ensures pure, powerful, and stable power delivery. In addition, numerous sound-quality-first specifications are adopted, including peel-coated circuit boards free from resistive influence and OFC internal wiring.

The analog RCA output terminals employ LUXMAN’s original highly rigid design, available only on upper-tier models, mounted with a generous 22mm pitch to accommodate large, high-end cable connectors. XLR terminals are manufactured by the highly regarded Neutrik brand. The chassis is supported by cast-iron, density gradient insulator legs, protecting the unit from external vibrations transmitted through the supporting surface and suppressing unwanted internal resonance.

The AC inlet’s structure has been improved to support the weight of heavy power cables by reversing the mounting, suppressing any movement of the power cable while maintaining a stable grip. A slim, premium aluminum remote control with numeric keypad is also included for excellent operability.
